    Abstract
    The Mexican Space Agency (AEM) has been working to develop a national strategy to build the national capacities and the space infrastructure to secure the purpose defined on the Law that establish the AEM. Nowadays exist capacities and resources in the Mexican States witch are considered as solid foundation to the development of the Space Sector en México.
    
    The AEM has signed collaboration agreements with 6 Mexican states in order to develop a strategy to foster the space sector in a regional approach. Working together with regional representatives of Government, Academy and Industry it is plan to build a strategy, that is congruent with the interests of the states development and capabilities. 
    
    As part of the strategy is considered the construction and operation of a Regional Space Development Center (RSDC) specialized in a Space Technology where the Center could be globally competitive and in accordance to the state capabilities and interests. 
    
    On this paper the description of the role that the RSDC plays on the national development of the space sector in Mexico is described. Also is presented the benefits and strategies. The description of the two initial RSDC to be established during 2016 and 2017 will also be described. Finally lessons learned will be presented as a contribution from the perspective of Latin America.
