    Abstract
The Caribbean region, comprised of the ‘Greater Antilles’, known as, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, have always been known worldwide to be hosts spots for tourism. Beautiful sparkling blue beaches, rain forests, all-inclusive hotels, eco-tours, agriculture-tours, and distinctive cultural differences provide for a great selection of activities to attract visitors, and in turn, sustainable economic value to an established tourism industry.

However, little is known about the prospects and benefits of space industry projects in the region. Although few, space companies have been doing work in rocketry, launch and satellite communications, and currently employ local citizens with high technical skills.

Creating a new market of space in the Caribbean Latin American Region, which has limited ‘legacy knowledge’ supply, requires an innovative business entry approach. The Caribbean Latin American Region has distinctive socio economic factors which can be positively exploited, and an entrepreneurial environment that crossovers with flexibility the offerings from current markets with new ones. We are working different approaches to establish, augment, and forge a path for growth to the region’s space industry.

A new horizontal take-off and landing spaceport, a new space agency, a vertical launch site, ground communication facilities, and several space projects in a public-private commercial coalition, are currently in formation with participation from the government leadership of the emerging Caribbean Latin American Region.

I will present space industry activities currently in progress, the space socio economic business model, and the public private partnership approaches which have been most favored in this region.
