- Abstract
In this paper, a new analog predistortion circuit which can be used to compensate the nonlinear characteristics of solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) in the satellite tracking telemetry and command system is developed. This new predistortion circuit is simple, compact and low cost. Two parallel schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) under suitable bias voltage are utilized to generate the gain expansion and negative phase shift characteristics. The fundamental principle of this linearizer is analyzed and its corresponding equivalent circuit model is shown firstly. Then, the desired non-linearity characteristics of designed linearizer versus different circuit parameters have been discussed. Finally, this linearizer cascaded SSPA has been measured and compared. The results show that a good performanced has been obtained. The intermodulation distortion of linearized amplifier when it delivers maximum output power can be improved by 6 dB .
