- Abstract
The Indonesian space agency, LAPAN, has performed satellite technology development since 2003 by developing series of micro-satellites. The agency is currently developing its 4th satellite, and its satellite technology development status has entered its determined 2nd phase, i.e. proven mission. The objectives of the research are to evaluate the progress on the satellite technology development that has been done, and evaluate the feasibility of its future plan. For such purposed, 25 national and international scientific and popular publications done by the agency from 2011 to 2016, are analyzed. The publications selected are in on the topics of satellite platform, components, payloads, and applications developments. The results show that the agency has performed technology development according to the stated plan, and the necessary capacity has been built to enable it ensure the success of its future the plan, i.e. sustainable satellite program, and developing missions dedicated for Indonesian needs.
