- Abstract
Heavy launch vehicle (HLV) is a significant mark of a country to enter space. In this study, we propose the evolution principles of China's HLV , analyse the reasonable diameter and the thrust levels of the launch vehicle and suggest the capability and possible mission for China's HLV. Two schemes based on the liquid oxygen and kerosene rocket engines and the solid rocket engines are investigated in this paper. It also shows the key technologies to develop a HLV, such as the general technology, the high-thrust liquid oxygen and kerosene engine technology and the high-thrust liquid hydrogen and oxygen engine technology.
