    Abstract
    The overarching goal of H3 is to provide the easy space transportation for not only Japanese government, and scientists, but also all customers in the world.
    To meet the various world customers’ needs, Japanese government has decided to started development of H3 in May 2013.
    To respond to the high expectation of customers, H3 has the plan to achieve the maiden flight in FY2020. 
    MHI plays a key role in the H3 launch vehicle development with support from JAXA.
    MHI and JAXA development team has had discussion from various perspectives.
    In this H3 program, MHI advances the Japanese primary launch vehicle based on rich experiences as a developer, manufacture, operator, and launch service provider of H-II, H-IIA, H-IIB.
    MHI have combined the wisdom of development team member under a severe budget constraint.
    Some of development tests have been completed successfully and some tests are now ongoing.
    Current status of the H3 development is reported in this paper.
