- Abstract
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, LTD (MHI) has been a Japanese launch services provider since 2007 with H-IIA and H-IIB launch vehicle. These launch vehicles are highly reliable with success rate of more than 97%, and 32 consecutive successful launches for the last 13 years. Today, the new Japanese launch system, the H3 launch system, is being developed by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and MHI. Using this new launch system, MHI is going to upgrade its launch services business. In the current H-IIA/H-IIB launch services, most of the customers have been Japanese government or its related agency. The H3 launch services, however, is going into commercial market of satellite launch as well as government. There are many customer-oriented features in its services. One of the key feature is shortened performance period, such as one year of the entire mission program, and eight days of combined operation in the launch campaign. Current plan for the new upgraded launch services is reported.
