- Abstract
This paper investigates using a fully resuable two stage to orbit launcher to deliver cargo to the near-earth orbit. A fully resuable two stage to orbit conceptual vehicle integrated the traditional launch vehicle configuration and adcanced reusable lifting reentry vehicle is presented. The designed vehicle configuration both stages are powered by liquid rocket engines and is feasible to deliver at least 10t of cargo to the near-both orbit, while the first stage using vertical-takeoff and vertical-recovery resuable launch vehicle, and the upper stage using vertical-takeoff and horizontal-landing resuable launch vehicle. Comparing with other rocket engines, turbine based and rocket based scramjet engines, and other combined cycle engines powered fully reusable two stage to orbit vehicle configuration, the analysis results shown that the designed vehicle configuration has advantage on feasibility and carrying efficiency.
