- Abstract
The International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) organized the Heads of Space Agencies Summit on Climate Change and Disaster Management held in Mexico City, Mexico, on 17-18 September 2015. Attended by 25 agency leaders and hosted by the Mexican Space Agency (AEM). The IAA and the AEM granted scholarships so that Mexican students coordinated by the outreach area of AEM could attend a meeting of the highest level of the world of Astronautics with the Heads of space agencies. Using the momentum of the meeting of Heads of agencies, the students and young enthusiasts of the space formed a group that was invited to look into the activities of SGAC. Part of his group later became the local committee for the organization of the Space Generation Congress (SGC) that took place days before the IAC'16. Here it is presented how integrating students and young professionals into the activities of international space organizations promotes the interest and participation of young people in professional space organizations, for their benefit and that of the organizations.
