    Abstract
The PeruSAT1 Earth Observation satellite was launched in September 2016 and is currently the most powerful Earth Observation system in Latin America for dual use application.
This sovereign system is operated by the CONIDA (the Peruvian space Agency) in the interest of a very wide range of Peruvian state organizations (e.g. Ministers, Institutions Regions and Cities).
After nearly 2 years in orbit since his launch, the images taken and distributed through CONIDA and used by the said users are a very big success for Peru : technically, operationally and economically.
After a brief summary of the PeruSAT1 system main components, associated performances and development story, the paper will address and elaborate the reasons of this success of the PeruSAT1 for the Peru.
Main domains of interest of the space imagery applications, associated users, preparation activities before launch, volume of data collected and distributed until now, concrete utilization by Peruvian institutions will be presented, together with the main lessons learned at that stage.
The evolutions identified in order to enhance further the operational efficiency of the system at the benefit of both CONIDA operators and Peruvian Users will conclude the presentation together with their status of implementation, and the projection of the PeruSAT1 system use for the coming years.
