- Abstract
Wireless Power Transportation (WPT) is a key component of future Space Solar Power Systems and some other applications. Currently, several hundred researchers, in Japan, in the USA, in China, in Europe, and in other countries are working in developing various technologies and they communicate together through various exchanges and congresses. But this topic of WPT is still widely ignored by industrial and political leaders and decision makers. The main purpose of the WPT World Research Center (WPT-WRC) is to communicate knowledge about this important field to science general and public media, and various policy organizations in a form that is understandableby them. Also the WPT-WRC may help coordinate on a global scale field experiments in Wireless Power Transportation. The WPT-WRC is an internet based organisation with a physical address in Reunion Island. Its creation was decided at IAC-2017 in Adelaide, and a logo was designed to characterize the organization. The current plans are to issue a Press Release two times a year, and to organize with the University of La Reunion a one-day state of the art workshop every year, with physical presence for the participants who may travel to Reunion Island, and internet conferencing for the other participants.
