Abstract

Chemical Hydrazine based systems dominate the market for satellite propulsion since several decades but this market is currently in a significant change process. The need for green propellants, the maturation of electric propulsion and the upcoming mega-constellations require an adaptation of the current product portfolio but also gives opportunities for new technologies to be developed.
This paper gives an industry view about space propulsion in Europe with the focus on a changing market and green solutions for the future.
