    Abstract
The Ariane 6 Launcher System development program has gone through several critical milestones in 2018 with the first firing tests of its engines, the Maturity Gate 7 of the Launcher System and the delivery of the first manufacturing facilities. In order to address all the customers' needs and provide future users with maximum versatility, several features have been added to the overall launch service design.

This paper presents the program status of Ariane 6, the design of the launcher and expected performances and the future milestones that will pave the way to a first flight in 2020.
