    Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionize the current internet age and transformed our lives and day-to-day operations. IoT has given devices and objects a unique identifiability and enabled them to transfer data over a network without human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. This paper focuses on the current and future trends in IoT and seeks to understand the potential and need for investment in this technology. Technology advancement in this venture has revolutionized the like of Energy, Transport, Security and Health industries. We have had the innovation of Internet of Everything and Internet of Medical Things. Will the Internet of Space things be the next big thing? Big industry players in the world have started investing in this space with the likes of Space X partnership with Google to deliver microsatellites for rural internet connection by 2019. Virgin Group and Qualcomm have also partnered to invest in this area. This paper will show how Satellites will revolutionize communication, impacting on sectors such as media broadcast, energy and space, ATMs and Government activities. This aside, IoT is set to transform space exploration. IoT has also created room for new business cases in the space sector with new technologies such as block chain, bring a new life into the field. Automation of autonomous functions is also in deployment with internet enabled machine integration enhancing advanced data patterns simulations capabilities. NASA’s Ames research in Silicon Valley have successfully experimented on drag technology. Their research seeks to make discoveries on wireless sensor technology in vehicle dynamics and heatshield. IoT and Space fusion has resulted to unlimited best case scenarios with Digi International set to make a breakthrough in wireless satellite communication in a mesh network. These are some of the real-time scenarios explained in this paper. With the global IoT market projected to grow from $2.997T (2014) to $8.9T (2020), all eyes are set to focus on the current industries and Space sector will be one of the major IoT technology investors. While IoT has had some setbacks from issues arising from security and privacy of data, focus to patch these issue have been prioritized. Is IoT the new space game changer? Well, numbers don’t lie. This paper will publish a detailed research with factual conclusions.
