Abstract

As the development of smallsat constellations grow, the increased interconnectedness raises questions of what happens do the physical and data plane.  What notions of collision avoidance are in place?  How will the increased exposure of data be managed?

I will explore the development of recent changes in laws and changes in values in the notion of data, particularly in light of developments of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how will that be interpreted in space?

Would the notion of data protection/cyber security rules and regulations apply?

What are the potential legal obligations?
