    Abstract
The NASA Academies are immersive summer research internship programs for graduate and undergraduate students. These programs are designed to build interdisciplinary technical, management, and professional skills, while educating participants about the organization and activities of the agency and preparing them for future leadership roles in aerospace. This paper highlights various projects and activities undertaken by the students, and demonstrates how the NASA Academies may serve as a model for developing the current and future global space workforce.
