    Abstract
Space enthusiasts and social media users can daily see and download hundreds of photos taken in space by astronauts. This great imagery represents an inspirational source for artists and designers all over the world. However, there are artistic initiatives which potentially involve every single person with a smartphone, not just a limited audience represented by professional artists and designers. Here we would like to tell the story of the app called SPAC3, a joint initiative developed in 2017 by ESA (European Space Agency) with the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto and the art platform RAM radioartemobile. We will see how space images by ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli have been made available to the public to become the main ingredient of a social work of art thanks to the Third Paradise symbol by Michelangelo Pistoletto. An experimental art project that joins together the world of space to that of art in both a modern and inclusive way.
