- Abstract
In addition to the normal headaches of a startup such as funding, staff, business licenses, space startups have a myriad of other headaches that often have much larger consequences to the business. These include controls over the technology involved, the radio frequency licenses, and earth observation licenses. This paper introduces the complexities faced by a space startup in a condensed form. With lessons drawn from 5 years of experience with space startups, particularly Spire Global this paper provides a comprehensive introduction to entrepreneurs and students looking to become entrepreneurs.
