Abstract

Taking into account long-term experience of terminological monitoring procedure application in the process of ISO/TC 20 “Aircraft and space vehicles” standards development, including standards of ISO/TC 20/SC 14 “Space system and operations”, experts of the National Technical Standardization Committee of Ukraine “Rocketry and Space-Rocketry” (TC 117 of Ukraine) have developed the list of proposals about the usage of represented in IAC 11.E8.1.3x9318 mechanism of terms standardization and terminology monitoring procedure during all stages of standards development. It is important for the standards quality improvement and realization of ISO/IEC Directive requirements insofar as it refers to exclusion of application of different concepts for one term in one field of standardization and also presentation of correct references to normative documents in terms definitions. 
It should be noted that the analysis of terminology monitoring results has its features at different stages of standards development and allows coping with specific tasks, related to given stage of standard development. 
The main task of the represented report is to show the features of the terms standardization mechanism application in the domain of space at each of the stages of international standard development (NP, WD, CD, DIS, FDIS). 
The main purpose of the represented report is to formulate the proposals on improvement of procedure of international standards development in the domain of space insofar as it relates to terminology management. Since experts of TC 117 of Ukraine have earlier presented reports, dedicated to the problems of the used space terminology management, possibilities of terms vocabularies creation by using the terminology monitoring procedure as well as the results of work on the terms standardization in the domain of space to International Astronautical Congresses, this report summarizes results of the long-term activity of experts of TC 117 of Ukraine. The statistical data accumulated in the course of aerospace standards terminology long-term work enable to give recommendations for the most important aspect of standardization – for the stages of international standards development as exemplified in the development of standards in the domain of space.
