- Abstract
Project PoSSUM (Polar Suborbital Science for the Upper Mesosphere) is a citizen-scientist astronaut candidate program that has branched out into several offshoots from its initial aeronomy-focused mission. One of these courses has been EVA 102: Space and Extreme Environment Medicine. This paper and presentation will concentrate on experiences over two sessions teaching a medical lay-audience principles of wilderness medicine and triage, medical simulation and hands-on protocols taught in the field, as well as look ahead to future objectives and challenges.
