- Abstract
The removal of space debris raises several issues of international law. Two of the main concerns in this regard are liability for possible damage caused during space debris removal operations and responsibility for debris removal activities. The paper will analyse the existing international regulatory framework relating to responsibility and liability in the context of space debris removal and assess where additional regulation might be needed. It will also address the role of UNCOPUOS and the IADC not only in the establishment of this international framework but also in its application as well as its possible further development in the future.
