    Abstract
The low-cost and short timeline of small satellite mission development allows previously excluded groups, such as student organizations, to participate in the growing “NewSpace” industry. While student groups are typically passionate, motivated, and willing to learn the required technical skills associated with CubeSat development, they often lack the resources and personnel required to effectively manage the project.

Space Concordia, a student group from Concordia University, has been developing CubeSat models and succeeding in national competitions for more than 8 years. In this time, various management approaches have been adopted to coordinate the production of reliable and safe spacecraft. In 2018, when the team was selected to participate in the Canadian CubeSat Project, a new management plan was created with an emphasis on developing lasting practices within the team. As this presentation describes, the new management plan includes the application of lessons learned through structured knowledge transfer and new regulations to monitor and improve the quality of technical work, as these topics are particularly important to groups such as Space Concordia, where high percentage turnover is consistent.
