    Abstract
La Cité de l’espace is the main Science Centre in Europe dedicated to space, welcoming every year around 375 000 visitors. In 2019 la Cité de l’espace will be focusing on the Moon, like many other space institutions, associations, societies, Museums, Science Centres and individuals around the world, taking advantage of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing.
While some will primarily celebrate the anniversary, others will discuss the Apollo heritage and others will also look at the future… This paper will present how the celebration of a specific event in a Science Centre can take a whole variety of forms and actions, ranging from a temporary exhibition, a one year long students program, a big open party and much more and how we will address different topics and questions related to our single natural satellite. The dense program built around this year is also an example of our Science Centres work, targeting different audiences with different activities and offering meaningful activities for all.
The focus of this specific year is not only Apollo and its celebration, but also the occasion to address the future that lays ahead of us and discuss the future of Moon exploration.
