- Abstract
Late-breaking results from a cross-interdisciplinary nonprofit collaboration in zero gravity on May 22, 2022 shows outreach engagement in STEAM for young students. Dreams for Schools engages K-12 students from underrepresented backgrounds with education in STEAM with programs in mobile app development, website development, and engineering. As a middle school student in their inaugural program, an intern for the nonprofit, and lastly a college mentor teaching students, I have grown full circle with educational engagement. Through a Zero-G flight funded by nonprofit Aurelia Institute’s inaugural outreach mission, my storytelling project involved showcasing mobile apps and websites that middle school students made on an iPad while it is floating in microgravity. Upcoming engagement with Dreams for Schools will show the impact of students to see their work in a space-like environment and inspire both the students and instructors in the programs to dream big and see the unlimited potential of their work.
