- Abstract
Intensive mining activity is one of the reasons for the degradation of mountain forests in the west of Azerbaijan. The article is devoted to the study of quantitative coefficients of the dynamics of changes in the areas of forests in the region of the Lesser Caucasus. The study is based on the calculation of spectral indices, and on satellite imagery over a significant period of time. The method of space images processing is shown. The method includes the preliminary processing of images, as well as the determination of a certain type of minerals in the soil based on geospatial analysis.
