- Abstract
The United States Task Force (USTF) is an American-led team of passionate young professionals and students in the space industry envisioning the sustainable, fair, and cooperative development of outer space to benefit all people on Earth. We aim to further this vision through policy recommendations, introductory background materials, facilitating discussions with experts, and encouraging broad involvement in US space policy. In the three years since its founding, the USTF has taken steps toward these goals through policy briefs, perspective blogs, public webinars, working groups, newsletters, and more. In this paper, we highlight the work of our team on topics including: space diplomacy, commercial partnerships, space debris, in-space manufacturing, environmental impacts of rocket fuel, and the role of space technology in climate action. We present our perspectives as members of the young space generation who will be influenced by and contribute to space exploration for decades to come. We will promote the hard work of our members and facilitate further discussion with the IAC audience to inform our future work.
