- Abstract
Space is for everyone and should be available for more than just the wealthy nations or individuals who can afford to get there under our current limitations. A sustainable economy in space is achievable if commercial space operators and nations from around the globe work together democratically. An organization is needed to represent every type of commercial space company from around the world with a focus on inclusion, representation, and the environmental impacts created by these operations. The Interplanetary Chamber of Commerce (ICoC) is that organization. They are the first and only Chamber of Commerce based in space and recognized by the United States Government as a 501c6 organization. The ICoC represents businesses of all sizes, all over the world, with a focus on commercial space, and serves as a trusted advocate, partner, and network for businesses that are shaping the future of interplanetary commerce. They encourage companies to exploit the benefits of space to improve life on Earth and utilize the research possibilities for life in space while working towards growing sustainable commerce in space, and monitoring the environmental impacts that space commerce creates. With members already ranging from large companies to small start-ups from around the world, representation and inclusion are not only possible, but proven to be successful, profitable, and sustainable.
