- Abstract
The factors which need to be considered in the ageing life prediction and life extension of composite propellant motors are considered. Ageing mechanism of composite propellant motors are described, The critical ageing processes of grain are discussed. The relation between design state and service life of SRM is mentioned, methods of extending the service life of a composite propellant charge have been investigated. Four approaches have been considered; Some tests about assessment of the SRM’s ageing is touched, Include Non-destructive tests, motor dissection, material testing, static firing .The Arbenius equation and mechanical aging or damage are studied in the accelerated aging model of SRM.at last, discussed lightly how to improvement in rocket motor service life predicition.
