    Abstract

Within the Ground Based Infrastructures to create Microgravity, stratospherical balloons are used to elevate capsules up to a great altitude (stratosphere), to be later on, released in a Microgravity fall. The Argentinean Laboratory of Microgravity, located at the Universidad Nacional del Comahue in Neuquen, has designed and built a capsule to carry out experiments in Microgravity by means of stratospherical balloons, capable of ascending up to 25 Km. As a function of the launching height, the weight and drag coefficient (Cd) of the capsule, it is possible to achieve from 10 up to 20 seconds of Microgravity at a level from 10-1G up to 10-4G. During the last Southern Hemisphere Summer, the first stratospherical balloon was launched carrying two experiments: (1) Solidification of an alloy of Sn-Pb inside a cylindrical container. (2) Magnetic Fluid Manipulation in Microgravity Environments. In the first experiment regarding the sample obtained in Microgravity, it was observed a much more globular structure than in those obtained under normal Conditions. In the second experiment, regarding the manipulation of two fluids with different coefficients of magnetic susceptibility, the characteristics of the experiments and its results were registered and analyzed, as well as the conditions to make possible the following type of Ground Based Infrastructures: Meteorology of the flight, communications and Telemetry System, payload search and rescue System.
