    Abstract
The potential hazard to the pressurized module on orbit from space debris is being paid attention. The purpose of this paper was to report our work on debris protection design to improve impact performance of the pressurized module, including hypervelocity impact experiment and impact failure risk assessment results.

MODAOST, developed as a meteoroid and debris risk assessment tool, was adopted to assess the effect of design. Two methods was tried to improve the protection performance of the pressurized module, one with added shielding plate, and another with redesigned configuration of radiator. So, two kinds of sample targets were impacted at hypervelocity range and ballistic performance was acquired. The result showed the design scheme is feasible.

Mounted with shielding plates, the survival probability of the pressurized module is satisfying.
