    Abstract
SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AT THE MOON

    INTRODUCTION

We’re studying Telecommunications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. By this reason, our idea is a system of the satellites of communications for the moon with the Earth.

    STEPS

We propose a new system of communications for the moon.
The new system of communications consists:
    -transmitter or transmitters
-3 satellites around the moon for global cover.
-we can use 1 or 2 satellites of constellation GPS.

Initially, we would put a transmitter at the moon. Later, we could put more transmitters into the surface of the moon, too.
We think the best surface for the transmitter will be the face nearest to earth, by two motivations: the cost of mission and the direct connection between our satellite at the moon and the satellite of constellation gps.
For the new constellation around the moon, we would have 3 satellites. These satellites would give covering to all moon. The situation of these satellites will be study for the best covering. We propose their position would be each 120 degrees.

The transmitter communicates with one of our 3 satellites.
Our satellites will communicate between themselves by ISL, communications inter satellites. The communication between the transmitter and our satellite would be a full duplex transmission. At the same time, the communication between the three satellites would be full duplex, too.
Thus, the satellites could transport the information of mission between themselves as repeaters.
The data would send between the satellites of our constellation until we found in our constellation, the satellite with best connection with the satellite of constellation gps.

For connection of satellite of constellation gps with the earth, this satellite will have two receptors as minim (we know that in a few years, the new version of satellites of gps will look to the deep space). One receptor for communication with the own constellation gps and the other receptor for the communication with the our satellite (moon). This form, the data is sent from transmitter to our satellite. After, the data is sent from our satellite (moon) to satellite of constellation gps. And, again, the data is sent from satellite gps to control station at the earth.

    CONCLUSIONS

If the ESA or any organization sends a mission by surface of the moon, our transmitters can received information, data, and all digital data that they consider interesting for the Scientifics’ world. It’s a possibility of report fast information and after, send it to the earth for study.
