    Abstract
Master Control Facility (MCF), Hassan currently operates, controls and maintains nine satellites of ISRO located in Geo-Stationary Orbit (GSO). ISRO future plans include orbiting of many more satellites into the GSO, which are expected to grow to nineteen by year 2010. In order to cater to the increased operational requirements, Master Control Facility- Bhopal is established as Second facility for ISRO GSO satellites.
The primary function of MCF-Bhopal will be continuous health monitoring of the Satellite and issue the commands necessary to maintain the good health of the satellites. Ranging will be performed to find out the exact position of the Satellite in the Space, and special operations like station keeping, management of satellites during Earth’s eclipse, payload configuration changes in the satellite to suit the requirements of the Users will also be carried out from MCF-Bhopal.
Two station ranging from MCF-Bhopal and MCF-Hassan together will improve position accuracy of satellite in Space, as they are located 1000KM apart. This increase in the accuracy of satellite location is essential, as three or more number of satellites have to be colocated and operated at a single orbital location.
MCF-Bhopal facility is operational on round the clock basis with the major technical facilities/systems , which include satellite control centre, TTC Facilities, Power Complex and Communication facilities.
MCF –B currently operates Two spacecrafts. Bhopal facility is being augmented to support additional spacecraft operations.,
This paper describes MCF-B facilities in detail, its current capabilities and operations, future plans, and the potential for commercial operations. Future plans are elaborated with special emphasis on use different satellite operations.
