    Abstract
Alcatel Alenia Space has been involved in the design and development of several elements of the Space Station, as well as in the support to the physical, functional and operational integration of these elements in the ISS. Experience has matured through the MPLM and its missions, via Columbus and Cupola and their processing and testing phase, via the Node 2 and Node 3 development and preparation for launch, in the ATV preparation for operations and cargo integration.

The intent of this paper is to bring the experience on how to build the flight operations products (flight procedures and flight rules), how to set up an efficient support for assembly and activation phases.
The objective of this paper is also to bring the engineering experience on how to plan the utilization and how to operate and maintain a system in a proper way during its lifetime.
The paper finally intends to give relevance to ground processes that are essential in the preparation and certification for flight, like the close out process.

All these aspects will be focused in the paper through the description of real cases that Alcatel Alenia Space is experiencing in the frame of current activities: Columbus operational integration preparation is on going, Node 2 Ground processing is approaching the Shuttle Integration phase, Node 3 Closeout for Flight tasks are being executed at AAS-I premises, support to the certification for flight readiness is also on going for Columbus and Node 2 elements, ATV analytical cargo integration has completed few cycles and the physical cargo integration is starting.

The paper proposes an integrated view of the main operational aspects to be considered and products to be developed in preparation of and during the mission execution. It identifies the essential links between the operations definition, development \& planning on one side and the physical \& functional design, as well as integration \& test from the other side. It addresses how to develop operational data and when in the project, in order to allow their utilization, guaranteeing a total coherence and concurrence between design products and operational products. The final goal is always to increase the project efficiency and the overall products quality.
