    Abstract
The Canadian Space Agency has a Life and Physical Sciences Program aimed at understanding the effects of the unique environment of space on the human body and physical processes. With the renewed interest in space exploration, there is accelerated need to address our goals. Towards this end the International Space Station (ISS) provides a unique long-term platform for scientific experiments. Experiments have already been conducted in co-operation with international partners, and others are planned. The Life and Physical Sciences Program has devised a plan that solicits research proposals for a range of different science opportunities and also uses continued international collaboration to maximize science utilization of the ISS. The type of research solicitations and the CSA plan for ISS, which includes both life and physical sciences, will be described.
