    Abstract
A concept of composite inflatable panel elements, which consist of simply pasted plain polygonal membranes for inflatable tubes with panels, is proposed as a structural element to realize large scale deployable space structures.
In the recent many research works on deployable inflatable structures, the circle and linear type inflatables are mainly focused as the compression elements of the structures, however, to construct a closed environments with inflatable elements the composed structural panel elements are requested to make the structure quickly.
Also, the polygonal panel elements are significant for connecting inflatable structures to each other without leakage in the closed environments.
However, the composed inflatable panels are difficult to manufacture because the deformation with wrinkles after inflation should be considered in designing the inflatable panels.
To simplify the manufacturing the composed inflatable panel elements, we apply simply pasted plain polygonal membranes for making the panel elements.
To avoid the buckling like deformation in the course of inflation, we examine the large deformation in the corner of the inflatable tube with panels experimentally.
Then, we design the composed inflatable panels to realize complete deployment without buckling like large deformation.
A regular triangular and hexagonal composed inflatable panels are demonstrated to investigate the deployment properties, and the results show the validity of the concept of composed inflatable panel elements.
