    Abstract
A surrounding fluid has effect on the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a structure. The influence can be obtained by calculating the add mass of fluid flow when amplitude of vibration is small[1]. Authors[12], [13] analyzed air flow induced by vibration of solar array with modal test on ground by using the dipole configuration method, obtained the expression of kinetic energy and then calculated the added mass of air flow. Sequentially, the difference of the natural frequencies of solar array between in the air and in the space can be got quantificationally. In this article, authors improve the dipole configuration method to calculate the added mass of fluid flow induced by vibration of more common structures like columns and columns with fins.
