    Abstract
The stress corrosion cleavage (SCC) sensitivity of master blank and specimen with weld line of high-strength steel (D406A) in liquid ammonia has been studied in this paper. The results show that the steel D406A in liquid ammonia tend to be stress corrosion cleavage sensitivity. The mechanism of stress corrosion cleavage is hydrogen brittleness. The stress corrosion cleavage sensitivity of weld line of welding steel D406A manufacturing by bulk heat treatment in liquid ammonia is better than that of its master blank.
