    Abstract
The Indian Aerospace program has come a long-way over the little more than half-a-century and has attained its maturity from concept to operational flights and missions. The capability, capacity and the cost-effectiveness is a well established phrase today. The prime players around the world, be it in the area of aeronautics or space or defence have directed their attention towards India to utilize its above mentioned unique benefits. The reason for this near-self sufficiency in design and development, production, testing and certification mainly goes to the credit of a number of Indian entrepreneurs and manufacturing industries numbering nearly 500 who work in close coordination with R and D, educational institutions, testing laboratories and aircraft and Space organizations within and outside the country. The private industries by contributing to this niche, complex and sensitive area, have achieved many cutting-edge technologies indigenously. With Indian space expenditure as well as civilian and defence aerospace expenditure moving up steadfastly, these institutions have carved out a decade and beyond profile intune with national requirements. Like anyone else involved in Space, India also has the ambitious program of Reusable Launch Vehicle and the recently announced manned mission program also to be accomplished by 2015 and there will be innumerable opportunities for private aerospace players in India to actively participate in accelerating the programs.

This paper analysis the increasing role played by the Indian private aerospace players towards national Aerospace programs and in the changing international scenario, their potential to a larger role internationally also.
