Abstract

The upper stage is an available approach of enhancing performance of launch vehicle and advancing mission adaptability. The upper stage is in conjunction with large existing and planned Chinese booster such as the series of LM-3A, LM-2F and the new general launch vehicle. The combination of the upper stage and booster is intended for transferring a spacecraft from a referent orbit to the target earth satellite orbit, such as geostationary orbit (GEO), SSO and to the orbit of the deep space exploration and to the lunar transferring orbit and to the mars transferring orbit and so on. In a word, the upper stage would be used to complete all kinds of space transferring mission. It would be of preferable mission adaptability.
In the general, the study of the upper stage conception is based on payload performance of the existing and future new general launch vehicle. The new upper stage would be meet requirements driven by all kinds of now and future payload performance demands, In particular, meet requirements of all kinds of satellite. 
Based on launch mission requirement, the upper stage is of below function:
 Providing enough velocity increment  and 
Flying on orbit in long time and 
Multi-ignition and
Complicated mission program.
The pager describe the conception conceive of Chinese advanced upper stage including mission analysis, conception conceive study, composition of system and prospect of its application.
