    Abstract
    Long March Launch Vehicle adapts a series of advanced and reliable thermal management technologies to provide well thermal environment for rocket and satellite.
    Launch times of Long March every year is significantly increased recently, and the vehicle can not choose the launch time and the weather, for special satellite orbit requirement. However, launch site’ climate for LM launch vehicle varies acutely in different seasons. So thermal management must be taken to the vehicle placed on the launch site and technical preparation before launch. 
    Aeroheating of vehicle is serious when it is flying through the atmosphere. It is necessary to make use of the lightly, high efficiency thermal protection measures to protect the satellite, the instrument on the vehicle and the structure.
    The vehicle’s upstage fly a long time in the astrospace, for the emission of launching multi-particle, high orbit injecting directly or exploration in the deep space. 
      The upstage is faced with the austere space environment. The flight time of the upstage is shorter than that of the satellite. So the cost will be very high if taking use of  the satellite’s thermal control measure for the upstage. Moreover the flight orbit is deference between upstage and satellite, It’s trajectory is belong to the aperiodic motion. This thermal analysis is very complex. Considering the characteristic of the upstage, how to us the economic and credible thermal management measure is an important content for achieving and developing vehicle mission.
    This paper discuss the application of thermal manage technology on the long march launch vehicle from three aspect. The three aspects include thermal management application before launch, flight in the atmosphere and the application on the upstage of vehicle. Through application of these thermal management measure assure the vehicle flight more inexpensive, higher efficiency, safety and credibility.
