    Abstract
    JAXA Industrial Collaboration Department has been trying to promote various commercial space activities under the “Space Openlab” program. Under the program, new space-related businesses are emerging. It is true that to start a space-related business is hard especially for new players since they are not familiar with space technology. Moreover, potential market of space business is usually not clear, although huge investment is necessary. 
    JAXA is trying to support such new players, and there actually exist successful cases of new space ventures in Japan, especially in the field of utilizing space date/images by the media. 
    In this study, authors will present actual cases of such unique space ventures, and assessment of potential market of utilization of space data/images among the media.
