- Abstract
The purpose of the report is a history of life and activity of the main designer of the strongest solid propellant rocket motor (SPRM) of ballistic missiles of Volodymyr Ivanonich Kukushkin in the world. The name of Kukushkin is practically not known to world space elite. Made by him SPRM stood on arms in Russia up to 2005 in structure of the most powerful in the world solid propellant missiles of type the Scalpel. Life of V. Kukushkin is an illustration of life afterstalin generations of the Soviet engineering elite. Graduate of MAI he has come in DBYu in 1955 and for 10 years has passed a way from the engineer of design department DBYu up to the youngest in the USSR the main designer of SPRM in DB-5 of DBYu. Kukushkin participated in creation of all liquid rocket complexes of DBYu which have made a basis of rocket-nuclear power of the USSR to the middle of the sixtieth. The report tells about participation of V. Kukushkin in tragical launching of rocket R-16 when the flower of DBYu was lost and he has hardly survived after explosion, about unique test of the space LRE in conditions of weightlessness on plane Tu-16, about carrying out of DB5 more than 1000 fire tests of sustainer SPRM, of smallsized SPRM, of powder accumulators of pressure and of gas generator. V. Kukushkin, has carried out plan of the Soviet hawks, having lifted the chemical industry, having created new especially pure materials, having developed the newest technologies, having created of solid propellants. The sustainer rocket engines created by him for the most powerful and unique solid propellant missiles, launched from submarines, from the railway car, from mine installations, had such advanced decisions on management of a vector of thrust and a specific impulse which have not been repeated by anybody. Experts DB5 have brought in the advanced development of it SPRM more than 1000 knowhow. Paper is telling about creation for the first time in the USSR and world practice on the basis of sustainer SPRM 15D15 of ICBM The iron maiden with mobile ground launching, about creation on basis SPRM 3D65 of railway complex which is the greatest achievement in world rocket technical equipment. This rocket train carries three-stage solid propellant missiles with ten warheads of individual guidance on a target. V. Kukushkin and director of Pavlograd factory V. Shkurenko for 30 years have created seven most powerful in the country sustainer solid propellant engines for rockets of the strategic purpose, three engines for division of the warheads, eighty five unique smallsized engines and powder accumulators of pressure. The report cites the unknown new data of the whole spectrum of the created by V. Kukushkin Soviet SPRM. The unique phenomenon in rocket technology is analyzed: for all time of operation of products of V. Kukushkin there was no refusal. Littleknown life of one of pioneers of the Soviet rocket technology is opened by authors who know of V. Kukushkin personally more than 50 years,who worked together with him a lot of years.
