    Abstract
Benefit of space activities are often discussed only from the viewpoint of scientific or technological value. However, there must be invisible value of space activities; so-called “social value”. Japanese Space Exploration Agency (JAXA) has been engaged in promoting various space-related activities by special purposed programs such as “Space Openlab”. JAXA has been exploring many unique space activities in collaboration with private sector. Such activities cover various fields such as commercial, education, entertainment, art and fashion. In order to assess future needs/markets in such fields, JAXA often try to evaluate/calculate social value of these activities.
In this study, author will introduce recent space-related unique private activities in Japan, and assessment of their social value.
