- Abstract
The 58th International Astronautical Congress in Hyderabad, India, coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Space Age and the 40th Anniversary of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty. This paper will be devoted to the examination and analysis of the role of the resolutions of the UN General Assembly in the progressive development and codification of space law with special reference to the 1967 Outer Space Treaty – the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies.
