    Abstract
The Community of Ariane Cities (CVA), founded in July 1998, is an association of cities making a direct or indirect contribution to the Ariane European Space transportation programme, together with manufacturers which are also participating in the programme.

Its objective is to contribute to the economic, cultural and educational development of these cities and their inhabitants.

To accomplish this, the CVA primarily aims to raise young people's awareness of Space, and to inform citizens about the social and economic advantages and ramifications of Space activities, the applications of satellites, and the importance of access to Space.

The CVA uses the Ariane programme as a model for economic cooperation and a means of inspiring young people and promoting Space-related education by raising awareness of the intercultural aspects.

After having reviewed the already well-established annual CVA programmes (the Scientific Holidays and Intercultural Seminars for teenagers, and the CVA Summer Schools for engineering students and recent graduates) to meet the above aims, the authors are to introduce a new programme, designed to strengthen existing links between the Ariane cities, their educational structures (secondary and higher education establishments) and businesses: the REVA (Educational Network of Ariane Cities) Programme.

The aim of the REVA Programme, first set up in 2007, is to:
    -	cultivate exchanges between stakeholders in secondary, vocational and university education,
    -	encourage the emergence and dissemination of new teaching practices,
    -	interest students in science and motivate them to chose the subjects they are offered,
    -	lastly, encourage exchanges and encounters between students, managers and stakeholders in the cities' educational systems.

The REVA web portal is the essential communications node, providing a virtual meeting place and platform for pooling and disseminating information: http://www.education-cva.eu.
