    Abstract
In today's world involved in globalization and integration of the countries and peoples, the importance of multilingual dictionaries increases. Separate problem is the development and translation of scientific and technical documentation for international space programs, which is explained, first of all, by the complexity of technical solutions, different engineering approach of the developing companies to designing, development, testing and lot production, as well as by high responsibility level in all phases of projects implementation.

The problems of developing the multilingual dictionaries were first taken up by Yuzhnoye State Design Office in the 90-s of last century when implementation of the international projects with participation of the companies from the USA, Italy, France, China and other countries of Europe, America, Asia began. Besides, the requirements arose to efficiency of translation and to visual presentation of translated terms which accompany actual structural and technological solutions and which were (due to their unique nature) incomprehensible or even unknown to the foreign partners. All this led to the necessity of considerable increasing the quantity of documents to be translated, and not only purely technical texts from the English, French, Japanese and other languages but also the texts connected with the new directions of company's activity (marketing, salvaging, international space law, etc.), as well as to the necessity of oral translation.

The development of specialized dictionaries itself was preceded by a number of technical meetings with participation of interested companies-participants in the international space programs where the direction of application of a specialized dictionary to be developed was defined, as well as its expected scope, development period, work schedule and other organizational issues. After that, based on the whole collection of Russian sentences corrected and supplemented by the highly-skilled experts of our company, an association indexing is performed and a vocabulary of word-combinations comprising the most frequently used terms (containing maximum 3 words) is compiled. Then for each word-combination that meets a certain frequency threshold criterion, a collection of translated English sentences is made, based on which the frequency dictionaries of English word-combinations are compiled. As a result of this work, several specialized English – Russian – English dictionaries on space rocket engineering were published.

The novelty and topicality of dictionaries were recognized at the governmental level – a team of authors obtained the Certificates of Intellectual Property.
