    Abstract
The liability for damages caused by the launch of a space object has been considered as an already setteled issue under the Outer Space Treaty and the Liability Convention. However, the Treaty and Convention deals with the state responsibility only, the liability of relevant parties under the domestic law of each country being left unregulated. The latter issue is becoming more and more actual, as the commercial activities by private enterprises develop. The issue has come to be highlighted when states started to consider about enacting domestic law on space activities. Against these backgrounds, the paper will (re-)consider the liability issue related to the launch of a space object from the viewpoint of a domestic, private law rules, including the rules on conflict of laws.
