    Abstract
Since November 2014, the ITU has received numerous requests for coordination for non-GSO systems operating in the Fixed Satellite Service (the so-called mega constellations with hundreds to thousands of satellites). This paper will present a summary of the constellation orbital and telecommunication parameters so far submitted to the ITU, an in depth review of the regulatory challenges related to the operations of these mega constellation in term of frequency sharing, coordination and technical and regulatory treatment by ITU. Also the recent World Radiocommunication Conference 2015 (WRC-15) outcome related to non-GSO FSS satellite systems will be analyzed together with the open questions to be further discussed and resolved by the next WRC in 2019.
