    Abstract
Colombian has not been a country with much development in Space applied technologies, research or even application. But, there has been certain developments that will change this in a near future. This paper will develop in what the Country is doing regarding Space application, but it will focus on the efforts made by the Universidad Sergio Arboleda in achieving certain development in areas regarding Space Law, Satellite development and the attempt to expand interest in Space in the Country.

This paper will focus on the development of the Libertad II Satellite by the University, and the social impact it will cause in Colombia, as the second ever Colombian Satellite in Space. It will also explain how it was the same University that sent the Libertad Nano satellite to space in 2007, and the importance of these events in Colombian Society. It will focus on the Legal aspects that helped this development, and the impact that this future Satellite can have in the further development of Space Law in Colombia. It will give an overview of the present regulations that exist regarding Space Law, and the lack of it, and how this can change in a near future.

The Goal of this Paper shall be that of comparing the Colombia’s developments in Space Law with those of Latin American Countries and focusing on how Libertad II can generate more interest and more regulation in Space Law for this Country.
